Mr. Díaz Lobo is founder and President of Grupo Eterna, one of the most esteemed business groups in Honduras. Established in 1976, Eterna, S. A., is recognized throughout Central America for excellence in heavy construction, concrete products, real estate, service stations, supermarkets, and agri-business. Díaz Lobo is also President of the Board of Directors of Caspian International, President of Belca Honduras, S.A., Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of San Pedro Sula, and Vice President of FUNDAHRSE. He is a founding member of the Honduras Association of Civil Engineers, as well as a founding member and Director of FUNADEH, CEHDES and FUNDAHRSE, organizations dedicated to promoting corporate social responsibility and the sustainable development of Honduras. Active in the
Rotary Club since 1978, Díaz Lobo is a Past President of his club and the District Governor for Rotary International. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Banco del Pais, and the National Railroad Authority.
During President Ricardo Maduro's term 2002-2006, Díaz Lobo served as Vice President of Honduras, heading several government institutions, including CEVS, the organization responsible for monitoring and protecting the Sula valley from flooding and other hazards. In 2003, he received the "El Forjador" award from the San Pedro Sula Chamber of Commerce for his outstanding contribution to the area's progress and development. He also received the ORDECCCAC award, the highest recognition given by the Association of Construction Chambers of Central America and the Caribbean.
Díaz Lobo received a degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Honduras, and a Master of Science degree from Ohio State University. He lives with his wife in San Pedro Sula. They have 5 children and 19 grandchildren.
