Mr. Dale has worked and traveled extensively throughout Honduras for the past 15 years, living in the country six to eight months of each year and experiencing first-hand the needs of the Honduran people, particularly those of children in the cities and remote villages. Dale's reputation for sincere concern and his wide-ranging abilities have been recognized by government officials in both the US and Honduras.
From 1998 until 2008, Dale was president of US Protection Service, a Honduras company employing 425 local workers. While involved in this business venture, he oversaw the training and implementation of security for several US companies operating in Honduras and was responsible for the security assessment and plans for the country's five seaports. In addition, Dale has directed a security assessment and plan for the city of San Pedro Sula. His time is now shared by various other consulting projects and building Friends of Honduras USA.
Prior to his work in Honduras, Dale was chairman of the board of Security Services of America, a security company that operated in five US southeastern states. This position followed Dale's retirement from a 28-year career in law enforcement for the State of North Carolina: 14 years as trooper with the Highway Patrol, 10 years as sheriff, and 4 years as director of Alcohol Law Enforcement, a position to which he was appointed by the Governor.
Mr. Dale is joined on the Friends of Honduras Board of Directors by his wife, The Rev'd Anne Dale, Vice Chair, and by a daughter, MarthaVan Dale, Treasurer.
